The staff held a professional development session last week on Wellbeing. We discussed many aspects of this; we have implemented several ideas and have explored others to be implemented next year. We decided to focus on one seemingly small thing with the children in the next 3 weeks as we move towards the end of term (which is typically a time when we are all tired, but excited and sometimes forget our manners). Our focus is to move around the school at a walk rather than a run. In the old days we all knew the rule not to run on cement, well this is still valid and if we calm ourselves and walk as we move, then we remember our manners, might let someone go in front of us and also will prevent any accidents. We are hoping that we can build on this little thing to make some bigger changes in our mindset as well.
We look forward to continuing our important ideals from the Living Well Learning Well framework - 'I am Safe', 'I am Valued, Respected and Cared for' and 'I am a Learner' for the next 3 weeks and into the future as we learn and grow together.
As we get to the end of our year, we have some special events on the calendar. We will farewell our Year 6 students in a Graduation assembly on Tuesday 7th December, this will be followed by a Whole School Mass on Friday 10th and a staff and Year 6 student luncheon on this day also.
Kindergarten to Year 5 will have their presentations on Tuesday the 14th December and Going Up Morning on Wednesday 15th December, which is also the last day of the school year.
