Classroom News - Year 3

This fortnight Year 3 started a unit on visual literacy. The class explored the text ‘Tuesday’ by David Wiesner, a book that contains only six words that determine the time of events in the story. The whole story is narrated by colourful pictures of frogs flying on their lily pads.  Year 3 explored how the author told the story through his use of character, colour, and light. 

In Maths, year 3 has been enjoying exploring and building 3D shapes. The class built shapes out of nets in order to count the faces, vertices, and edges. 

This Sunday will be the first Sunday of advent, Year 3 is looking forward lighting a candle on the class advent wreath and saying a prayer that reflects the meaning of each candle.
