Stars

In this edition's Stars segment, we have decided to acknowledge our Semester One Principal Award winners. The Principal Award is given to the student deemed to be the highest achieving, in their year level, for the semester. Students are selected based on teacher nominations and academic progress. Congratulations to the award recipients!

Year 7- Ella Deefholts

Ella has made an exceptional start to her studies at Healesville High School and her teachers are very proud of her. Ella's Semester One report is filled with mostly A and A+ results. In addition to her academic success, Ella is polite and most of all, kind to those around her. Well done, Ella!

Year 8- Erica Wiggins

Erica continues to impress her teachers and works hard to achieve academic success. She was nominated by most of her teachers for academic excellence. Erica is also a valued member of the music program, playing the Bass Guitar in the Stars band. This year, Erica has volunteered to be a member of the 'School of Rock' backstage crew. Congratulations, Erica!

Year 9- Kaitlyn Harrison

Kaitlyn continues to be a consistent performer and as such, she has been recognised with a Semester One award for the third consecutive year.  Kaitlyn's teachers comment that she takes pride in her work and she often does more work than expected of her. She treats everyone with respect and makes the classroom environment a better place. That's what we like to see!

Year 10- Celeste Duthie

In addition to impressing her Year 10 teachers, Celeste also received excellence nominations from her VCE teachers. Celeste studies Year 12 Psychology and she was the highest performing student in that class, as a Year 10! Wow! She also studies Year 11 Legal Studies and achieved two SAC results over 90%. Celeste continues to approach her studies with maturity and her teachers appreciate the challenging and thought-provoking questions she asks.

Year 11 VCAL- Christopher Visolit

A previous Star recipient, Christopher was nominated for excellence by all of his teachers. They appreciate his willingness to start work straight away and his diligence and determination to complete all work on time. Mr Nedumannil, in particular, was consistently impressed by Christopher's work ethic in Semester One Numeracy. Well done, Christopher!

Year 11 VCE- Nicolas Filipek

This is the first time Nicolas has won this award and we are thrilled to be able to acknowledge his efforts in this way. Nicolas finished the semester with consistent results and he managed the increase in work from Year 10 to VCE with relative ease. Congratulations, Nicolas! We hope you continue to be recognized in these awards.

Year 12 VCAL- Tamara Commans

Throughout the first half of the year, Year 12 VCAL staff regularly commented on Tamara's leadership within the class. She takes a leading role in group projects and has the ability to organise those around her. Throughout her time at HHS, Tamara's attitude has improved dramatically and we are thrilled she is the Year 12 VCAL Principal Award recipient.

Year 12 VCE- Sienna Muke and Lily Clements

Year 12 staff were unable to split these two students. Both deserve recognition for the way they are approaching their Year 12 studies. They are consistently trying their best, they are working well with their teachers and are positive role models for other students, both in Year 12 and in younger years. Congratulations, girls! We hope your diligence is rewarded at the end of the year.
