Past Students

Nelson and Nikita Aldridge

Brother and sister, Nelson and Nikita Aldridge were both recognised at the Eastern Metropolitan Region NAIDOC Ball. Nelson graduated in 2015 and past School Captain Nikita graduated in 2017. Nelson is currently the Indigenous Project Officer with the Yarra Ranges Council and Nikita is an Outreach Worker at Healesville's Oonah.

Both are passionate about reconciliation and are doing great things in this area. Nelson recently opened our NAIDOC week celebrations by speaking to our Year 7 and 8 students. Students were treated to an engaging speech about Nelson's family and their links to local land.

Nikita wowed local audiences when she used to perform in our productions and she even came back to provide support once she had graduated. At the NAIDOC Ball, Nikita received the Arts award for her hard work in the Performing Arts area. Nikita remains passionate about performing and encouraging others to do the same. She recently performed in a show for the Grover Theatre Company and has also joined the committee for this company.

Nelson was the recipient of two awards; the Youth Sporting Achievement Award and the Community Award. Nelson has a strong belief in the power of sport to support reconciliation and as such, this year he coordinated the Indigenous football round between Warburton-Milgrove and Powelltown.

Congratulations Nelson and Nikita! It is fabulous to see you both doing so well in life beyond Healesville High School.
