Junior School Report

On behalf of the Junior School team, we would like to welcome new students and families into our college community. We appreciate all the support and positive interactions we have had thus far.

As the Junior School Leader, I will continue to lead our supportive environment with the assistance of team members Elizabeth Robinson (Junior School Coordinator), Anna Hirchfield (Student Support), and Tammie Percival (Junior School Office Manager).

Congratulations to our Junior School SRC representatives who were elected by their peers into leadership positions. Aaron Abuan and Maddy Ashton at Year 7 and Izzy Calleja and Mustafa Glibanovic at Year 8.

The Year 7 camp was a huge success as students and staff members were able to form relationships, which will prove valuable to future success in the classroom. The Year 8 camp will be a City adventure that will take place later on in the year.

We have athletic sports coming up toward the end of March, which I know many students are looking forward to. I encourage parents to come and watch the Athletics at the Newborough running track. I also encourage parents to check the first round of student GPA’s that have just been released. If there is any concerns about those or anything else, please feel free to contact me via email or on the phone in the Junior School.

Regards,

Mike Santo

Junior School Manager

Year 7 Camp

On February 11th, 93 excited Year 7 students set off to Phillip Island. Over the next three days, they began getting to know their new friends, playing on the trampolines and swimming in the pool. They even braved the cold to learn how to surf at the beach, and reached new heights on the giant swing! Many new friendships were formed around the delicious dinners, as the students shared their excitement over each day’s events. A great start to the year for all involved!
