Lost Property

Please ensure all school clothes, books and personal property are clearly labelled with the student’s name. Many items are not returned to their rightful owners because they are not labelled correctly or clearly. Lost Property items are stored in a cupboard located next to our First Aid Office.

School Fees

At Lowanna College we aim to ensure the Essential Items charge that we pass on to families is affordable and as such it is heavily subsidised by the College via limited Government funding. Essential Items are items, activities or services that the school deems essential to student learning in the standard curriculum. Essential items include (but are not limited to) items that the student takes temporary or permanent possession of such as additional text books,  student stationery and materials for learning and teaching where the student consumes or takes possession of the finished articles (e.g. technology projects, workbooks,  photography, food for Food Technology, wood and hardware for other Technology subjects).

Payments can be made at the General Office in person using cash or credit card or over the phone using credit card. There are also a number of online options available including BPay, CompassPay and Centrepay (if you are in receipt of a Centrelink payment). You may also make regular instalments via any of the above options.

The College is sensitive to differing family circumstances and support for families experiencing financial hardship is available. At Lowanna College Angela Skinner (Business Manager) is the parent payment contact person. If you are experiencing financial difficulties a confidential payment plan can be arranged by emailing, phoning or meeting with Angela in person. Please contact the General Office on 5127 9200 to arrange an appointment.

First Aid

Lowanna College has a number of First Aid Officers available to support students throughout the school day. These First Aid Officers are not qualified doctors or nurses, though they are trained to provide general and emergency first aid.

These First Aid Officers are available to treat and support all students, and if necessary, manage an incident until a parent or ambulance can arrive.

As our First Aid Officers are not qualified to diagnose or treat illness, should a student report they are too unwell to be in a classroom, parents/guardians will be contacted to collect their child. Parents/guardians are welcome to return their child to school should their child’s condition improve and are able to participate in usual classroom activities. Please also note the College is unable to provide a transport service for students.

As per our various policies relating to First Aid (available on the College website), Lowanna College does not supply any medication for student use. Should your child require these, please refer to the appropriate College policy, or alternatively, make contact with the College as per the details below.

Our First Aid Officers are always available to speak with parents/guardians and students about any health concern, and are able to facilitate the communication of this information to other Lowanna staff as necessary.

If you have any further questions about the function of the First Aid office, please contact Jenny Stephens on 5127 9223.
