Term 2

Welcome back! It was great to see the children, teachers and parents refreshed after the term break.

Our grounds works are almost complete. The oval has a tinge of green, which we are cultivating and thus restricting play for a few weeks. The new play surface - soccer and ball games will be open for use on Friday.

We welcome several new families to our community.

Prep Enrolments 2020

This morning was the first of our tours this year for prospective enrolments. Over forty families visited Valkstone and were guided by some of our Year 6 students after a briefing in the foyer and a visit to the Prep Learning Area.

Valkstone is at capacity, with the Department placing a restricted zone on our school. Families may find their designated neighbourhood school by using  www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au

Year 6 - 7 Transition

Enrolling in Year 7 is an important choice. To support parents' decision-making, the Department of Education has launched a new website to help parents locate their local school and give transparency of choice in public schools across the Victorian public system.

Year 6 families will receive information on Friday 26th April on accessing the website and placement forms. Parents are to complete the form and return it to Valkstone Primary School. Should you need assistance, Cara James (Year 6 teacher) or I will be able to guide you or provide a printed application form. 

Secondary schools are holding their information evenings and open days in the next few weeks. Be sure to attend the schools in which you are interested as they may have additional requirements.

Colour Fun Run Update

All sponsorship money MUST be received by FRIDAY 26th April.

At Assembly next Monday, special certificates will also be handed out to our top 10 super fundraisers.

 Cake Stall / Sausage Sizzle on election day Saturday 18th May, as Valkstone will be a polling station.
