Spotted on Campus
One of our favourite things is when Catholic Ladies' College Alumnae come back to be involved in CLC Life to help shape the next generation of the CLC Sisterhood.
Year 9 Guest Speaker
Kelly Jones - Class of 1998
We were thrilled to have marketing guru Kelly Jones (class of 1998) back at CLC earlier in the year to spend some time with our Year 9 students as part of their Possibilities Program. The students were in the process of creating their own marketing campaigns so having Kelly join them to impart her wisdom was fabulous.
International Women's Day Guest Speakers
Dr Nicola FitzGerald - Class of 1997
Kathryn FitzGerald - Class of 1999
It was so brilliant to have Dr Nicola FitzGerald (Class of 1997) and sister Kathryn FitzGerald (Class of 1999) speak to current students on International Women's Day this year about their life changing project they started PICCSI.
They started this organisation from the ground up with lots of hurdles and challenges, however the amazing results were well worth it and they left the students in absolute awe of their accomplishments.
Exam Supervision
Familiar Faces
What a day when our new Alumnae Coordinator Jayne Clarke (class of 1994) stumbled across some of our favourite past teachers Margaret Cross and Marianne Roberts who were supervising the Year 12 GAT today. They were joined by long standing staff member Frank Salmic. So many memories come flooding back seeing these wonderful faces.
Soccer Coaches
Kate Davis and Kristina Borgolotto - Class of 2018
We are so lucky to have Kate Davis (2018) and Kristina Borgolotto (2018) as our Soccer assistant coaches. They work alongside our coach James to put these 23 girls through their paces at training each week. We are so grateful and the girls love it!
Founder's Day Guest Speaker
Katelyn Duckworth - Class of 2010
We were thrilled to have Katelyn Duckworth (Class of 2010) back at CLC for one of the highlights on the school calendar, Founder's Day. She filled the girls with such inspiration and we loved her key messages 1) Don't settle for comfort 2) Don't be afraid to pivot and 3) Find growth in adversity.
Founder's Day
Sister Elizabeth Costigan
It was such a special morning having Sister Elizabeth join us for Founder's Day. The girls get such joy having them be part of our special days. We love this picture of Sister Elizabeth with our principal Stephanie Evans and our two 2019 College Co-Captains.
Basketball Coach
Amy O'Neil - Class of 2014
Nothing is better than having our CLC Alumnae back in the school mentoring and working with our current students. A huge thanks to Amy O'Neil (class of 2014) who has been coaching our mixed Intermediate/junior team for their latest Basketball championship. Was a great competition with our team only missing out by three points in the cross over match.
Year 9 Guest Speaker
Priscilla Moca - Class of 2009
A huge thank you to Priscilla Moca (class of 2009) who came back to CLC today to work with our Year 9 students as part of their Possibilities Program. Priscilla has been a journalist for 3AW Melbourne, Channel 7, Channel 9 and was the perfect person to come in and talk about 'What makes news' as part of their program.
Father's Day Breakfast
John Mitcham
What an honour it was to have John Mitcham joining his grandaughter Claire (Year 10) for our Father's Day Breakfast this year. John has contributed so much to CLC and it was an absolute delight to have him here again today. Not only did John's wife Pat attend CLC (class of 1957) as well as daughter's Sue (class of 1987), Julianne (class of 1982) and Maree (class of 1984), he has also held various roles during his time at the college. He was President of our Fathers' Association from 1985 - 1986 as well as Chair of the Board from 1998 - 2008.
His daughter Sue Vander (nee Mitcham class of 1987) is also the current President of the Old Collegians' Association. Such a wonderful family with a long history at CLC.
