Environment Group News

The Environment Group has started the year strong with our blue bins out in action again this year. To continue the promotion of these and to help new students understand the importance of them we created another video which was shown at assembly – a few stills from the video are above.
Our big event this term is the Clean Up Australia Day Sleep-Out. This is the 30th year of Clean Up Australia Day and the first year that MCA will be getting involved. We will be joining forces with Mt St Michael’s College to clean up Breakfast Creek on Sunday, the 1 March. We will be starting the day with a BBQ Breakfast at 7:00am and then the clean-up from 8:00am-10:00am. Students from Years 5 – 12, as well as families, are welcome to get involved with the clean-up. Please email either Ms Badini (badinik@marash.qld.edu.au) or Mrs Whyte (whytek@marash.qld.edu.au) if you are interested.
To coincide with this event, we will be holding a sleep-out for Year 9-12 students down at the Jack Eales Field on Saturday night. Students can either bring a tent or sleep under a marquee for a night that is sure to be a lot of fun. Again, if you are interested in registering for this event then please contact Ms Badini or Mrs Whyte.
