Senior Chess

ACC Senior Chess (Thursday 24th August)

The ACC Senior Chess team competed in a tournament at Simmonds College recently.

There were boards set up so the sights and sounds of 100 clocks clicking and 200 brains ticking was quite a sight. Each of the students competed in 7 matches with varying individual success but we were strong enough to secure 3rd Place overall in Division 2.

The team, with their individual scores, were:

Aaron Nowlan (5 W, 2 L); Joel D’Rozario (4W 2D 1L); Rocky Tringali (4W 1D 2L); Linh Do (4W 1D 2L); Rhys Bennett (4W 3L); Anthony Sotos (5W 2L); Nicholas Nikolitsis (4W 3L); Jordan Stamatakos (4W 2D 1L); Ben Martinelli (4W 3L); Jack Marken (3W 1D 3L);

Early next term the Junior and Intermediate tournament is on so if you are in Yr. 7/8 or 9/10 and you are interested in Chess come along to S24 on Tuesday and Thursdays to test your skills.
