About Triple P – Positive Parenting Program
Triple P doesn’t tell you how to be a parent. It gives you a choice of strategies that you can adapt for all types of situations and problems. It helps you manage your child’s behaviour, emotions and development to build strong relationships, communicate well and encourage the kind of behaviour you want to see.
Family Maths Challenge
A farmer needs to get a chicken, a fox and a bag of grain to the other side of the river in his rowing boat. He can only fit one item in his small boat at a time.
However!
If he leaves the fox alone with the chicken, Mr Fox will eat it!
If he leaves the chicken alone with the bag of grain, the greedy chicken will gobble it up!
Devise a way for the farmer to safely cross the river with all 3 items. Jot down your ideas.
Once you are satisfied, that you have worked out the correct order, record each step of the sequence.
Good luck and enjoy and age old problem!

SAPSASA
SAPSASA KO Netball
Unfortunately the year 6/7 SAPSASA Knockout Netball team were defeated on Monday by Nazareth, 37-21. The team progressed through 4 rounds this year, which was the best that our school had performed in recent years. Special thanks to Kate E who coached the team. Kate was extremely pleased with the way the girls applied themselves throughout the competition.
SAPSASA Basketball Championships
On the 27th July, 7 girls and 7 boys went to Bearcats Stadium to compete in the SAPSASA Basketball Carnival.
Throughout the day each team played 6 games. In between some games we had to wait 30-60 minutes.
Games would only go for 15 minutes, so with such little time we put all the effort in to win.
The final result was that the boys had won 3 and lost 3 and the girls had won 5 and lost 1.
Hopefully the girls go to the finals?

STEM Day at LeFevre High
On Thursday 4th August, year 6 students from Largs Bay School attended a STEM day hosted by LeFevre High.
The students had a blast and the ‘weather vane and anemometer’ they created was outstanding.
LeFevre High staff commended the great students from LBPS for their engagement, listening and productivity throughout the day….well done.
Big thanks also to Simon and Sharon for their support throughout.
