3 Year Old Kinder Easter Festival

By Jane Bartholomeusz (Kinder Teacher)

On our last Three Year Old Kinder day for the term we had our Easter Celebration. Special visitors came and shared the experience with their precious Kinder child. We were very fortunate to have Eli’s dad Adin come along with his guitar and sing some Collin Buchanan songs with us; including our favourite ’He Died Upon the Cross’. This song is a great way to review and reinforce what we have been learning, that Jesus died on the cross, but the good news is He rose again - He is alive and with us always!

The children made and decorated crosses with their special visitors using sticks and flowers that they brought with them. After that,  we all went on a walk around the School grounds singing ‘He died upon the cross.’

When we returned to Kinder, we enjoyed morning tea together. At the end of the day, each child received a small bag of wheat which can be sprouted at home during Easter, as a reminder of the wonder of new life that God gives us. These sensory experiences will create a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, the significance of His death and resurrection, and the memories of this special time of year.
