Dear Parents and Guardians,

I pray you are well and your families are keeping safe. I would like to extend my prayers to all of you, and I pray that our beloved Lord Jesus Christ gives us all strength and courage in this challenging time. As you have been informed by His Eminence in His Encyclical 663/19-3-2020, we are kindly reminded that all churches will remain closed to the faithful; no one will be allowed into the church to pray or light a candle.

Although we have been instructed, we can do the services closed doors and we will be live broadcasting through Facebook and YouTube. However, we would like your support. Subscribe to our YouTube channel via our Facebook page, The Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Sts Anargiri. We will be uploading service booklets and prayers for you to do at home in your prayer corner. Subscribe here on YouTube, we need 1000 subscribers! 

At this time, we are all invited to pray, even if it means we do so in our own home; a little church. We all need to be calm and prayerful, and God will give us strength, and He will guide us by His Grace. If your child or your family needs any spiritual guidance and support, please do not hesitate to contact me through email, phone call or even SMS.

Prayer for COVID-19

Let us pray to the Lord, Lord have mercy

O God Almighty, Lord of heaven and earth, and of all creation visible and invisible, in thine ineffable goodness, look down upon us, thy people gathered in thy Holy Name. Be our helper and defender in this day of affliction. Thou knowest our weakness. Thou hearest our cry in repentance and contrition of heart. O Lord who lovest mankind, deliver us from the impending threat of the Coronavirus. Send thine angel to watch over us and protect us. Grant health and recovery to those suffering from this virus. Guide the hands of physicians and preserve those who are healthy. Enable us to continue to serve our suffering brothers and sisters in peace, that together we may glorify thy most honorable and majestic name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.

Nikephoros the Venerable, through his struggles with leprosy, and his manliness in asceticism, astonished the angels, for suffering as another job, he endured, glorifying God, and now he is crowned with glory by Him, with wonders of discernment. Hail, O guide of monastics, hail, O covering of light, hail to you, from whose relics pour forth joyous fragrance.
