School News

Marni Naa Pudni

We have come to an end of another fantastic year! Looking back, we are proud to note how far we have come as a community, celebrating our achievements and building an education fit for the future. We are committed to preparing LNPS students for tomorrow's world, empowering our young learners to shape the world they want to live in.

Firstly we would like to thank all the amazing LNPS staff, students and the parent community for making 2022 another highly successful year! We have had many great things happen this year and your continuous hard work, support and persistence is what makes LNPS an amazing school. We sincerely thank all staff for their enormous contributions in 2022. Last few years will be recorded in the pages of history as COVID-19, the years that required our staff to go above and beyond in all manner of educational matters. We cannot express in words our sincerest gratitude of working with such professional staff as they always remained focussed and committed to the mission and core responsibility of our school, educating the students of LNPS to always Aim High and to be the best of themselves. On behalf of our community: thank you!

LNPS community has thrived in the backdrop of a pandemic, and we are grateful for the ongoing support of our families. Your understandings, collaboration and support is what makes this school great. Reflecting on the past school year, we have had so many great memories and exciting events to look back on. We welcomed back our annual Community Night in Term 3, where we finally welcomed back our families into our learning spaces. We further continued many successful traditions at LNPS and we look forward to the next academic year.

We are always focussed on the improvement of our school in all aspects. We not only focus on the child’s academic level, but also on the whole child. In this upcoming year, we will emphasise on the social and emotional learning of all of our students, by reshaping our teachings of school values and new learner qualities throughout the Aiming High at LNPS initiative.

As we look to the next academic year, we offer a farewell to our graduating students and their families, and a warm welcome to all the new students starting at LNPS and their families. It’s an exciting time and we are looking forward to seeing you all in January!

"I am very excited to be joining the Lockleys North Primary School community and to join Ms Brook and Miss Perkas in the Reception team in 2023. I have lived in Adelaide for 10 years now studying and teaching. I grew up in Renmark and my family all still live there, so I love to get back when I can. On the weekends I like to go for walks with my dog and head to as many Port Adelaide games at Adelaide Oval as I can. Miss Jalna"

"Hello, my name is Miss Stratfold. I have been teaching junior primary in the Adelaide Hills the last 7 years and I am really excited about moving to LNPS next year to teach with the Mellor team. I love working in junior primary and helping my students to achieve their goals in a fun, explicit and hands-on way. My favourite subjects to teach are English, Maths and Visual Art.  In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, walking the dog, doing craft projects, cooking delicious food, shopping and playing netball. I look forward to meeting you all soon! "

"The past 10 years I have been teaching at a P-12 school further south. I have taught in various year levels across the primary sector of the school, including some time spent in Early Years leadership. My partner and I have a son called William who is 18 months old. When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, going to the beach, sharing a meal or watching sport. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a member of the LNPS community."

"Hi everyone!

My name is Rachael Knighton and I am beyond excited to be joining the LNPS community in 2023!  Since graduating university, I have taught Year 3 at Magill Primary School and have worked as a relief teacher at numerous schools, including LNPS.  My favourite subject to teach is Maths because I love connecting it to real world experiences and making it fun for my students. In my free time you will find me reading, travelling, at pilates or relaxing with my friends and family.  I have been fortunate enough to get to know a lot of your children, teachers and staff already, and I cannot wait to strengthen these relationships next year when I join the team as a Year 5/6 teacher! Miss Rachael"

Last week, our Year 6 Seniors were recognised as they completed their final year of primary schooling, graduating from LNPS.

We wish them everything that they so richly deserve in the years ahead - it has been a pleasure watching your progress and succeed, and to be involved in your schooling over the past 7 years. We have known most of you since Reception and it has been an exciting journey supporting you as you have grown and become the fascinating, surprising and wonderful young people that you are today.

Congratulations, we are proud of you all and wish you all the very best in your next chapter.

Until the next school year, here’s wishing you love, laughter and learning. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
