House Cup

One of the most important dates of the school calendar is always the House Cup Champion’s Day! As is tradition, we celebrated with a BBQ for the winning house but the festivities were enjoyed by all. A big “thank you!” to many of the Year 11 Leaders who helped the House Captains with the BBQ. Congratulations to the 2022 House Cup winners – CHANG HOUSE!

The following students were recognised for earning the most points for their house:

Chang: Nicholas Wells (10J), 150 points

Irwin: Bayley Stolzenburg (10I), 210 points

Blackburn:

Sam Diss (10C) and Conn Xu (8Z), 170 points

Freeman: Sam McBride (10G), 195 points

School Values Team: The School Values Team has been using Term 4 to plan for useful and effective actions for student agency in the classroom next year. We are currently working to collect a list of no-equipment (or minimal equipment) brain-breaks that students would like to see teachers use in the classroom. If you would like to suggest your favourites, please get in touch by messaging Ms Weyenberg on Teams. We have also been continuing our brainstorming of ways to make the Respect Program more engaging, relevant, and meaningful for all students. To be continued in 2023.....

School Garden Team: During the last term of 2022, the SRC has done so many wonderful things for the school! In Garden Team, this was an especially eventful term. We planted our first tree and decorated the flowerbeds with a handful of creepers. Special thanks to our amazing year 12 rep, Shania Desouza for organising to receive our Banksia tree and purple coral pea plants from the Whitehorse Council. We are planning so many more amazing things to come, including an opening ceremony early next year to invite everyone in the school community to celebrate our new, green space. Keep an eye out for announcements so you can join us!

SRC 2023: Term 4 always sees applications and voting for the next year’s SRC membership take place. We have finalised the 2023 team and are excited to release the names of successful applicants soon. Thank you to everyone who applied and voted. Keep an eye on Teams and Compass for official announcements.
