Night of the Notables Reflection

In each Semester the Year 7 Humanities Students complete a project called ‘Night of the Notables’ and is a great learning experience. Here is one student's recount.

The History project for this term was called ‘Night of the Notables’ and was a great learning experience and fun CAT to work on.  The assignment required us to research a notable person and create a poster about that individual.  We had a session in the library where we learnt about reliable sources and how to construct a bibliography.  We were also given class time to research and write and construct a research table about a person that we admired. Information was transferred onto a poster that we then presented to our class.

I learnt a lot about the elements of a good presentation and how to represent information accurately and effectively. I feel that the assessment criteria was clear and understandable and the task itself was engaging and rich in knowledge. What inspired me the most about my chosen notable was how many challenges they had, but they still pushed through to succeed.
