Director of Sport

Mr Michael Moschogianis

Congratulations to Team SVC, winners of the 2022 Year 8/9 Coyle-Clingeleffer Cup against St Patrick's College (pictured above).

Team SVC lost the toss and were sent in to bat on a beautiful wicket at St Patrick’s College. Luca Di Venuto (21) got the boys off to a fast start, however after he departed, Lachlan Davey (50) was the star of the show, alongside some power hitting by Willem Burgess (19*) and Riley Davie (20) helping the boys to a total of 9/186 after the 50 overs.

With the ball, Oliver Wentorf (2/12 off 5) was the pick of the seamers, producing a high-quality display of swing bowling. Spinners Hayden Clark-Sullivan (2/9 off 6), and Blake Garrett (3/30 off 10), controlled the innings, with Team SVC eventually bowling out SPC for 78 in the 30th over.

Thank you to St Patrick's College, Launceston for their hospitality and we look forward to hosting the 2023 edition next year.

A big thanks to our parents, coaches, managers, umpires and support crews for your tireless efforts in support of our boys. We certainly turned the stadium in a fortresses.

Best of luck to both our Division 1 teams who will play at the State High School Basketball Championships in Launceston this weekend.
