Gap students shine

Each year Kinross Wolaroi School welcomes several Secondary School graduates from overseas to spend their Gap Year with us, working in vital administration and support roles in all areas of the school. Since joining us in January, our ‘Gappies’ Ethan (UK), Joy (UK), Charlize (SA), Rasmi (SA), Alex (UK) and Fin (UK) have shown outstanding support in all areas of the school.

They have embraced every opportunity and have gone above and beyond to ensure that our students have received the best possible experience. Their enthusiasm and energy have been infectious, and it has had a positive impact on both staff and students alike.

We are grateful for their willingness to help and their positive outlook. Their commitment to excellence has been evident in all the tasks they have undertaken. They have proven to be valuable members of our team, and wonderful role models for our students to follow.

I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to our gap students for their hard work and dedication. It is a pleasure to have them as part of our school community.

Small details matter

As we embark on this new term, I encourage our students to focus on getting the little things right. It is important to remember that success is not just about achieving big goals; it's also about mastering the little things. In the words of legendary American Football coach Vince Lombardi, "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence."

It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of big projects and major assignments, but it's the little things we do every day that truly add up to success. Whether it's arriving to class on time, completing homework thoroughly, seeking and actioning feedback, or staying organised and on top of our schedules, these small actions can make a big difference in the school experience.

As poet Emily Dickinson once wrote, "If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves." By focusing on the little things and striving for excellence in everything we do, we set ourselves up for success not just in the short term, but in the long term as well.

It takes commitment to get the little things right and a willingness to hold ourselves accountable for our daily actions. I wish our students and families all the best for the term ahead.
