The final race of the day was the ‘Baseone's’ Cup. This was the first year this race was held after an anonymous donor presented a trophy to the Junior School Office. The race was a staggered start, similar to that of the famous ‘Stawell gift’. The fastest boy and girl from each age group were up against the fastest two members of staff. With the U8/9’s getting the largest head start and Mr Barrett and Miss Dawson having to start 15m behind the rest of the field. The 100m race saw Jett Johnson take out the win for the students but it was Mr Barrett who flew home from behind to take the victory. This was an exciting finish to the afternoon and we hope the see the ‘Baseones’ Cup continue well into the future.
On the afternoon of Friday 19 May we will be holding a Pre-K, Kindergarten and Year 1 athletics afternoon and we look forward to welcoming parents to this event.

This year, the Junior School has registered four teams in our local football competition – KWS Roar, KWS United, KWS Jets, KWS Strikers.
Today at lunchtime, all of our football players gathered in Room 41 as together, we launched the Junior School 2023 Football Season.
Our football coaches look forward to working with all players to develop prowess on the soccer pitch throughout winter.
At the Season Launch, W-League Canberra United player Nickoletta Flannery sent in a message for all players. It was great to hear from a professional in the field who also began their football journey during primary school. You can view her message in the video below.
