P&F Update

P&F Update for newsletter 18 May

We hope all the Mums, Step-mums, Grandmothers, and other special women in our community had a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday and enjoyed the lovingly chosen gifts from the school Mother’s Day Stall. A big thanks to Mother’s Day Stall Coordinator Karen Costello-Manning and her team of helpers for all their hard work in the lead-up to and on the day of the stall.

We were also very proud to host our first ever Mother’s Day Breakfast at Holy Spirit last week. Many of you would be familiar with our long-running Father’s Day Breakfast and finally, it was the Mums’ turn!

Thank you to Kathleen Di Rago and the other mums and dads who volunteered their time to make the day possible! We have received lots of positive feedback from the attendees and some suggestions on how we can further improve the event for next time. New events will always take time to perfect so thank you to our wonderful community for your support and feedback.

Please remember, all P&F events are optional to attend, and our aim is to cover our costs for social events. In the future, ticketed events will require proof of purchase before entry is granted.

Mums’ Night: Friday 19th May

Don’t forget, our first Mums’ Night for 2023 is on Friday 19th May at the Social Bar (at the Croydon Hotel - same venue as Term 1 Dads’ Night). No bookings required, just come along and have a drink and chat with other Holy Spirit mums.

Spirit Day and Cheer Toastie Truck: Friday 26th May

Thank you to everyone who put in their orders for the Cheer Toastie Truck for Spirit Day next week. Orders have now closed. If you are available to help make and serve lunch on Friday 26th May, please go to https://signup.com/go/djEXvPd to sign up or speak to Nicole Bruges.

Holy Spirit P&F Trivia Night: Saturday 24th June

Do you know…

  • How many times Phar Lap won the Melbourne Cup?
  • Who won Eurovision in 2023?
  • Which state is home to Australia’s tallest building?

It’s time to gather your team and brush up on your trivia knowledge; the Holy Spirit P&F Trivia Night is fast approaching!

Date: 24th June 2023

Time: 7pm for a 7.30pm start

Place: Domeney Recreation Centre (Park Orchards)

Cost: $25 per head

Tables of 10 will be available, with tickets on sale soon. If you have less than 10 in your group, please email pandf@hsringwoodnth.catholic.edu.au and we will do our best to combine you with another small group. Details to purchase tickets will be posted on Class Dojo in the coming weeks. This will be a great event with trivia, games, and a silent auction.

** Please note: You can bring your own food and beverages this year (both alcoholic and non) BUT we ask that everything is consumed in moderation. **

P&F Frequently Asked Questions

Is there something you would like to know about P&F activities but you don’t know who to ask? This is your chance! Please email your questions to pandf@hsringwoodnth.catholic.edu.au or ask any member of the P&F committee and we will answer them here.

Q: I’d like to help out occasionally at school but I can’t commit to joining the committee right now. How can I find out about opportunities to volunteer?

A: There are many ways to help out at school without being a formal member of the P&F Committee. Tasks like sorting the scholastic book club orders, sorting donations at the second-hand uniform shop or putting up your hand to help set-up or pack-down after events are all extremely helpful and take some pressure off the P&F committee. What’s more, simple tasks like this only take 15-20mins, and can be done at a time that suits you, for example right before the school bell, while you’re waiting to pick-up your child/ren.

If you’d like to put your hand up to help out on an ad hoc basis with small jobs, please contact pandf@hsringwoodnth.catholic.edu.au or chat to any of the P&F Committee members.
