Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

It was wonderful to celebrate Mother's day with a breakfast for our Mums as well as a new arrival in our family. My daughter had a daughter on Sunday. Mae Peta was born on Mother's Day at a healthy 3.1kg. I am still wrestling with being a first time grandparent however I am pleased that both mother and daughter are doing well. My thanks also to the organisers of the Mother's Day stall and (inaugural) breakfast.

Sadly we also had a death in our community last week. John Petridis, the father of Emily in year 4 and Jess year 7 and husband of Melanie, died last week. I ask that you keep Melanie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Can I please remind all families that if there is a change to the medical needs of your child that you alter the Operoo form AND inform the school office via email of the change in circumstances.

I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a LOTE teacher to date. I have spoken with MACS and applied for an exemption for our school this year.

Thanks again to all students who tried their hardest at cross country this week. I know that Caeleigh was well supported by several parents in the training program as well. Good luck to those representing our school next week at the District level.

Our students (mostly in year 6) will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation next Thursday evening. This memorable occasion will be held at St Patrick's Cathedral. Again I ask that you keep them in your prayers as well.

Have a good fortnight,

Duncan
