Principal's message

Dear families,

It doesn't seem possible that the first term of the school year is over!

Our students have had a busy and productive term. New friendships were formed, social and emotional skills continued to be developed, class routines were established and students engaged in new learning.

Our student numbers throughout the term have continued to grow in our Intensive English Language Program and we will be starting an additional IEL class at the beginning of Term 2.

Ms Jess Tovar finished the term a week earlier than expected as her baby decided she couldn't wait any longer to enter the world. Baby Lily arrived ahead of schedule on the Easter weekend. Both Jess and Lily are doing well.

We are looking forward to Ms Alanah returning to work part time next term. Alanah will be taking on part of the role that Jess was doing (EALD and AET support).

Due to the increased numbers of students in the IEL program and some staff changes, I will be selecting some additional staff members during the holidays to fill some teaching roles.

I look forward to introducing them to you next term.

A reminder that we have a Pupil Free Day on the first day of Term 2, Monday 1 May. As this is a staff training day, students do not attend this day. They will start Term 2 on Tuesday 2 May.

The OSHC Service will be offering full day care on the Monday.

To access Out of School Hours Care (OSHC), please ensure you have completed the enrolment process using Fully Booked and have met with the OSHC Director, Jordan McPherson as this process is required before you are able to book your child into the service.

As all students are required to wear school uniform, and the weather is getting cooler, please ensure that your children have suitable school clothes for the start of the new term. Uniform items can be purchased through the front office. The office is open during the school holidays from 9am - 3pm on most days. Please note the office will be closed on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 April.

I hope that you are able to enjoy some time with your children during the school holidays.

We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 2 May for the new school term.

Kind regards,

Terena Pope
