Music News

Term 4 has commenced in full flight, as we see our Senior Ensembles continue to prepare for the 2020 Soiree, while other groups conclude the year with a final performance recording during Week 2 rehearsals. Although this year has seen many adjustments alike, we are pleased to still have the opportunity for the boys to celebrate the end of year, which has seen all ensembles come together each morning in Week 2 for a sausage sizzle breakfast after rehearsals and recordings. Soon to be followed by Soiree on Friday 23 October, we are excited to invite immediate families of Year 12 Students to be a live concert audience, for the first time this year. Please refer to the College App for further information regarding Soiree 2020 and feel free to contact the department with any further questions.

We are also pleased to share the success of the Marist College Ashgrove Performance Choir production of High Hopes. The video, which was posted to the College Facebook Page has achieved over 170,000 views – including features from ABC News and News Limited, as well as being shared by the Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk. The recording was also featured on 612 4QR radio’s Drive program with Steve Austin. A huge congratulations to all students involved, as well as staff from the Marist Music Department and Technical Crew.

Music Camp 2021

We are pleased to confirm that the 2021 Marist Music Camp will still go ahead. Dates are as per usual, first week back of Term 1 (Friday 29 to Sunday 31 January).
