Grade 1/2

In writing, Grade 1 and 2 have been busily learning how to write procedures and we thought what a great reason to bring chocolate into the curriculum!

Last week we wrote the procedure of how to make a chocolate ripple cake! Our little writers and chefs were fabulous and their cakes were delicious!

As you can see in the photos, the children are full of smiles and very happy to be back learning in the classroom with their friends.

Mrs Phyland and Mrs Kelliher are also full of smiles being back in the classroom, face to face with the children, doing what they love.

1/2HW have had a wonderful return to school. The class have brought a great energy and positive attitude to their learning. We wrote letters to Mr Buckley to welcome him to our school.

Please see Tomas D (Y1) and Michael N (Y2)

Well done boys! Miss Wood

Grade 5/6

We have been learning about persuasive writing in Year 5 for the past two weeks. On Tuesday the 27th we listened to a story called: The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs - By A. Wolf, We used a Seven Steps graph to organise and sort out the arguments that were in the story. This is our persuasive narrative of, The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs and here it is.

The senior school have hit the ground running after returning to onsite learning. The vibe in the senior area has been great and the students have settled back into the school routines and expectations beautifully. At the end of Term 2, the Grade 5s and 6s took part in a Young Leaders Conference online. They looked at topics each day including 'Leading the Way', 'Generosity', 'Ideas to Lead the Way' and how to 'Bring Their Ideas to Life'. The conference was in lieu of the excursion which was planned for Term 2.

It was a great way for the grade 5s to start thinking about their roles for 2021 and for the grade 6s to think about how they might have a positive influence in their last weeks at St Joseph's and beyond.
