BOOK WEEK PARADE

On Thursday 22nd October we celebrated Book Week.Thank you to all our families for sharing your love of many and varied books. The children enjoyed their Book Week activities. The creative dress up ideas for the Book Week Parade on Thursday were very much appreciated and we were delighted to celebrate our love of reading together.

It was great to see the community spirit alive and well with our footy followers. It was also fun to see so many Tiger fans which made Mrs Keely, Mrs Wells, Tess and Mikaela very happy.

LITERACY

To celebrate BOOK WEEK we were fortunate to be able to listen to the talented author, Patrick Guest. Such an inspiring author! He shared with us his driving force that motivates him to write. He explained to the students that if ‘life dishes you up lemons then use it to make lemonade.’ In other words, you have the ability to turn things around and find a positive. Each of his picture storybooks relate to turning not such a great experience into something good. His stories have all been written based on personal experience.

His current books are:

-That’s what wings are for

-Ricker Racker Club

-The Second Sky

-Rabby the Brave

-The Dress Up Box

-Windows
