STUDENT LEADER PROPOSED IDEAS

Dress Up Days

For the remainder of the term there will be dress up days organised by a team of student leaders. If you would like to join in, reminders will be given from our Student Leaders to students. This Friday 27th November will be PJ Day. Over the following weeks we will have a free dress and a house colour day.

Sports

Every Thursday lunchtime a team of student leaders will be running different sporting activities and competitions for different cohorts of students. This week it's Ultimate Frisbee for the Year 3/4s. In the final week of term we will also have the annual Staff Vs Year 6 Netball game.

Festive Door Competition

From next week classes will meet with student leaders to introduce the Festive door competition that will be judged in the final week of term.

Dance Off

Student leaders have created different musical activities to get everyone up and dancing in the final week of term.

House Music

The student leaders are working with creativity and an open mind to make House Music happen this year. They have done a vote of student voice and students are keen. Next week, once they have the theme and music prepared they will begin to video the dance moves to share with their houses for those students who want to participate.

FROM MS JO

With further easing of restrictions, training and competitions are back! Students are telling me with such enthusiasm that gymnastics, tennis, swimming and many more activities are back up and running, just in time for this perfect weather.

I am equally excited in my own sporting pursuits that the triathlon calendar is back. I’m signed up to many big goals for 2021 in particular over the 70.3 distance.

Locally, the 2XU triathlon is a great opportunity to take part. There are five races in the series and the first up is 17th January in St Kilda with different distances for different ages:

  • Ages 7-11 years: Tri kids (100m swim, 3km bike, 500m run)
  • Ages 12+: Fun Tri (150m swim, 8km bike, 2km run)

If you’d like to get involved head to https://www.2xutriathlonseries.com.au/ for more info and entry. I shall be there competiting in the first one, so it would be great to see some students entering the Tri kids or Fun Tri race too (or adults of course). Be sure to let me know if you enter and I will keep an eye out for you on the day.

To celebrate our wonderful school community and to acknowledge the fantastic work of our students, I will be hosting a virtual performance soiree. It will be held onsite with teacher supervision. There is still time to sign up if you have not done already. Students can express interest in performing by filling in this google form: Click Here

Parents will be able to watch the event live on Webex. You will need a computer or other suitable device. We’re looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces, for a fun filled soiree.
