Steve Elkington Cup - Golf

Over the last two weeks, our Kildare golf team has been competing in the Wagga Combined High Schools Steve Elkington Cup played at the Wagga Wagga City Club. Kildare was out to defend their title, having claimed the trophy for the last five consecutive years. 

We are lucky enough to have some of the best student golfers in Wagga Wagga. Kildare trailed Mater Dei by 1 shot at the halfway mark of the competition. On the back nine, Kildare hit the front and was in the box seat to take victory again, but a few big scores on a couple of holes extended Mater Dei’s lead to 3 shots. MDCC claimed victory in the Steve Elkington Cup for this year. 

Congratulations to our boys on your efforts, we will be back next year to hopefully reclaim the trophy.
