Visit to Zana Aerial Dance Academy
On Monday, Year 9 International Studies traveled via the fabulous new Kildare Bus, to the Zana Aerial Dance Academy where we participated in aerial silk skills as part our unit on culture and the performing arts. First, we learnt the basics, which included wrist locks and holding the silks while tucking our legs in. We then learnt how to go upside down and do foot locks which helped us do a sideways crucifix also known as a T (pictured below). The last skills we learnt were how to front and back flip whilst holding the silks. Although the silks were definitely a lot of fun they were more difficult than we anticipated and we all had sore arms for the next couple of days!
Thanks to Tania and Heather from Zana for hosting us.
