At Mackellar Primary School we use Design Technologies, Food Studies and Nutrition in our Food Technology classes using the Victorian curriculum.

The Design and Technologies develops the knowledge, understanding and skills to ensure that students can create products creatively and safely manipulating with a range of materials, tools and equipment

We make comparisons, investigate food and record it on the iPad.

The Food Studies and Nutrition aims to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to ensure that students can become critical learners and producers of healthy foods, understand where it comes from and how to prepare it.  Students also learn how to make healthy choices and comment on their choices.
