Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear parents, friends and Father Arsenio,

With a little over four weeks to go till the end of the term I am very grateful that we have managed to get this far with minimal interruption. It has been a very settled period and the students are slowly but surely readjusting to school attendance again. We are still wrestling with how best to return to having parents and volunteers back on site, however I am hopeful that the first celebration of Reconciliation marks the beginning of this process.

This Friday we are having another pupil free day, allowing staff to complete professional development. All staff will be completing first aid training, enabling them to assist with the treatment of asthma, anaphylaxis and a range of other issues that present in a school.

I do hope that you get the opportunity to enjoy an extended long weekend with family and friends. I apologise if Friday is an issue given the closeness to the previous closure days enforced by the lock down.

Given the commencement of the tutoring program it has been great to welcome Colleen Bowman, Rosa Slaviero and Lauren Witnish back to our school. They are all long term employees at the school and have a wealth of knowledge. Our students receiving the tutoring are certainly in good hands.

Wednesday (March 3) marks the beginning of our sacramental program. I am pleased to say that parents are welcome to celebrate in the church with us subject to density limits. I am hopeful that restrictions continue to ease and that  we can begin to get back to welcoming more parents back on site.

Have a great week

Duncan
