School Community Engagement Officer Employment Opportunity at the City LLEN

We are recruiting ! 

 

We are seeking someone who understands the challenges and barriers faced by students and early school leavers and is passionate about helping young people maximise their opportunities. Capacity to network, build relationships, identify gaps and problem solve to create local solutions are vital skills for the successful candidate.

 

The role can be 0.6 to 0.8 EFT per week and staff work flexibly from home, in the office and also spend time at schools either in person or online.

 

 

Applicants should send a brief covering letter together with their resume and short responses to the Key Selection Criteria which are:

 

  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written communication
  • A good general understanding of school-based transition programs, including the VCE, VCAL, alternative education settings (Flexible Learning) and contemporary issues impacting the education sector and at-risk youth
  • Experience presenting to and working with young people in groups or other audiences and understanding how to adapt your speech and presentation according to the needs of the people in attendance
  • Ability to work independently and driven to initiate new ideas to achieve the key objectives of the LLEN program
  • Great networking and relationship building skills with employers, schools, TAFE’s, community organisations
  • Capacity to bring different organisations/people together to achieve LLEN objectives.
