CEO'S Report
Louise Smith
Welcome to our first Newsletter of 2021.
By now most of us are well and truly into the swing of 2021 and adapting again to an ever-changing environment. We have kicked off the year with a great start and are pleased to see growing confidence with our employers and schools involved in the SWL program. Due to the potential for on-going uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we are still operating under a variation of our contract with the Department of Education and Training to allow for a wider depth of supports to schools and students should we need to, if circumstances prevent SWL from going proceeding due to lockdowns.
Fingers crossed none of us will have to worry about this.
In the mean time it is with a sad heart that I let you know our School Community Engagement Officer, Andrew Smith is retiring. Andrew is looking forward to spending more time with his family, working on some music projects ( keep an eye out for the Ripchords playing all your favourite hits from the 60’s and 70’s) and exploring more of Australia. Andrew has been with us for three years and in that time has made a great contribution to the City LLEN and we thank him for his efforts. We will miss him but he may be available to us and others for short term projects so please email him before he leaves at the start of April for his contact details if this is something you would like to pursue potentially.
Please refer to our job advertisement further along in this newsletter for information on how to apply for the role.
In other news:
Keep an eye out for more City LLEN job advertisements as we recruit for a new program we will be announcing soon, by following us on twitter of Facebook.
