Coming Up - Year 10 Philanthropic Project 2016

Supporting Women's Health in the North

The students of Year 10 have chosen to support Women's Health in the North (WHIN) as part of their philanthropic project. The aim of Women's Health in the North is to contribute to women's safety and wellbeing and to focus on preventing violence against women. As a community focused foundation group, it assists women in the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne. WHIN recognises the factors that may affect a woman's life, then work to empower them to bring change thus improving their lives.

The aim of the Year 10 philanthropic project is to collect and donate toiletries to the foundation. The reason for this specific donation, is because most women who arrive at the WHIN centres don't bring many items with them; including toiletries, which we all know are a necessity.

Instead of asking for a cash donation, we are asking you to donate a useful toiletry item. This can be anything from a tube of toothpaste, deodorant, bar of soap to a tube of paw-paw ointment. We will be thankful for any brand new donations you can offer. A donation bin will be available at the front foyer for you to drop off your item.

Imagine how many items Northcote High School can donate if every family contributed one item each!
