Titration Competition Results

2016 Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI)  Titration Competition Results

This year Northcote High school entered 4 teams into the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) State wide Titration competition.

Students involved are currently studying Unit 1 and 2 or Unit 3 and 4 Chemistry. The competition ask students to determine the concentration of a solution of ethanoic acid (acetic acid or vinegar) using the Titration technique. Students worked in teams of three, and each team was given three different unknown concentration solutions of ethanoic acid. The winning team was the one which came closest to the correct answers. One of our teams results was ranked second in the state and I would like to congratulate Jack Puccini, Patrick Butler and Finn Nott. These students will now be invited to compete in the National Titration competition by RACI. Well done to all who participated in the 2016 RACI Titration Competition.
