World of Maths

This week St Xavier’s students were treated to a visit from ‘World of Maths’. World of Maths is a unique traveling maths show that provides fun, colourful, hands-on, mathematical, problem solving activities for students. 

A set of challenging, real life problem solving activities were set up in the hall for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Each display had a set of instructions and questions making each session a guided discovery lesson where the students solved a variety of problems, discovered number patterns, identified geometric properties and were asked to think logically in applying mathematics to real life situations.

The hands on displays encouraged teamwork, communication and guided discovery, making Maths fun and engaging for all students.
