Prayer

God of new beginnings,

through your grace,

you reveal to us glimpses

of your glory and light.

May your Holy Spirit continue

to call us to conversion and

transformation in Christ.

May we be inspired to live

more deeply in your grace.

Amen

Recent and Upcoming Feast Days

Today, we celebrate the Feast Day of St Patrick. St Patrick is an important person in the Catholic Church’s history as he converted thousands of Irish people to Catholicism across his 40 years of service. He is known for using the shamrock leaf as a way to help explain the Holy Trinity to the people of Ireland. St Patrick is significant to Australia due to our strong Irish identity with the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.

Then, on Friday this week, we will be celebrating the Feast Day of St Joseph. St Joseph, as we know, was betrothed to Mary and was Jesus’ foster father. Most of what we know about St Joseph comes directly from the Gospels. St Joseph is significant to us as our local parish is named after him.

Almsgiving During Lent + Project Compassion

Last week, Stage 2 held a lunchtime disco in the Hall. Judging by the huge number of people bopping away their lunchtime, it certainly was a successful fundraising event. All up, $375 was raised for Caritas’ Project Compassion, which will use all donations to improve the living conditions of the impoverished all around the world. On Friday this week, Stage 3 are holding a sponge-throwing fundraiser on Top Field. Their targets...the Year 6 School Leaders! 50c will get you one throw, but for $1 you can have three throws! We hope to have some very soaked Student Leaders by the end of the lunch break! Good luck everyone!
