Foundation News
The Foundation students have been working very well at school. Today is Day 75 as we count towards 100 Days of Prep.
Last Thursday there was great excitement in PLW and PEM as the students travelled on a bus to the LEGO Discovery Centre at Docklands. Their collaborative skills were put to the test as they worked together in partners and small groups to complete some challenges using LEGO bricks. They needed to make a copy of a monster that was quickly shown to them, make a wall and make a house for the Three Little Pigs. Everyone had a great time and cooperated with each other to complete the tasks. Many thanks to the parents who accompanied us on the excursion.
On Wednesday as part of our Inquiry unit, the students will be participating in an incursion run by "Hands on Science" looking at the wonderful world of materials. The inquiry unit for Term Two has been divided into two parts. This second part of the unit is looking at what things are made of.
If your child is unwell, please keep them home to get better. Colds and coughs quickly spread through the classes. Also a reminder to make sure items of clothing are named so that we can give them back to their owners. There is a collection of plastic containers on top of the lockers. Please take them home if they belong to you.
Have a great week!

Year 3/4 News
As we head towards the end of term there is a buzz of excitement around the school as the students prepare for their Student Led Conversations. SLC allow students to talk about their learning goals and how they are working towards achieving them. They will show evidence of their learning and highlight what they have done to improve their learning. These conversations are a great way for parents to see what their children have been doing and to listen to them talk about their own learning and how their new skills and strategies are helping them to be better, more independent learners.
This term the students in Year 3/4 have been working on their learning asset, reading, maths and writing goals. They have been implementing strategies, gathering evidence, reflecting on their learning and preparing and practising the speeches they will deliver during their SLC.
The students have shared their responses to SLC below:
