Mission & Social Justice
The new symbols of each of the Touchstones
The much anticipated HSC Examinations have arrived! In our foyer the names of all our Year 12 students are proudly displayed wishing them strength and success in their exams as well a promise that we will keep them in our prayers as they face this challenging stage of their education.

You may recall that you were invited to participate in a survey regarding the Touchstones. One of the main outcome of this survey was that EREA communities hold the Touchstones in high regard and did not want to lose them. This has resulted in a relaunch of the Touchstones in September and while there may be a new look and an effort to make the Touchstones relevant to the needs of the present time, their essence is still the same. The photo in the masthead for this page shows a brief preview of the new symbols of each of the Touchstones. The new look will be formally launched at our Opening Mass next year.

Founder's Day Festival Auditions
Founder's Day Festival is approaching and I am calling for student acts to apply for audition. The sign-up sheets are on the Music Noticeboard. Acts to be considered could include band, singing, dancing, magic, comedy, or other styles of variety acts. Auditions will be held in the Band Room on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st October from 3.30 – 4.00pm.

On Monday we launch the Toiletries for Matthew Talbot Drive. For the next two weeks there will be a collection point in the foyer where you can deposit any men’s toiletries and personal grooming items. These goods will then be collected by the Junior School Edmund Rice Society members and put into Christmas toiletry packs for the men of Matthew Talbot Men’s Hostel.
