CIS ATHLETICS
Five of our boys are competing in the CIS team at the PSSA (State Championships) today. Best wishes to Zac Flynn and PJ Marren in their respective 200m races and Joel Austin, Zac Flynn, Ryan Jom and Will Slocombe in the Senior 4 x 100m Relay.

SPORT- SWIM/SURF SAFETY PROGRAM
On Thursday 9th November our Sport will consist of Swimming for Year 5 and a surf safety program for Year 6. The program will run for four Thursdays in normal sports times. The surf safety boys will all wear a sun (rash) vest supplied . If your son is in Year 5 I would strongly recommend that you purchase a sun T-shirt (T-shirts aren’t allowed) as the Macquarie University pool is an outdoor pool. Sunscreen will be supplied and it is the boys’ responsibility to apply it. As other boys will put the sunscreen on the back, it is safer to have a sun (rash) T-shirt. If your son requires a special type of sunscreen please remember to pack it.
All boys require a packed lunch. The boys will swim in their swimming costumes (not board shorts). A pair of thongs are also handy for toilet visits. If you wish to collect your son from the pool, please be there by 2.00pm as we are on the buses by 2.10 to 2.15pm.

Softball
Round 7: Last Saturday we were up against Arden. Our new captain, Thomas Wilkins, selected to bat. The first innings looked promising with Arden all out for none. We were luckier as one runner made it home. Jhon Evans and Marcus Steen were our pitchers and pitched some great deliveries. It was a tight match throughout the game. Will Mathie, Andrew Bradford and Jose Monk defended their bases incredibly well. Eliot Sanders was focussed at short stop. In the second innings Arden were ahead by 2 runs. St Pius X College fought back - Luca Van Vuuren, Joshua Connors, Patrick Hall, Michael Whitehead, Max Lenton and Rowan Roomie were on to the ball in the outfield, keeping the run rate to a minimum. We were one run behind before the last innings and were lucky it ended in a draw.
It was a slow paced but entertaining game for a drizzly Saturday morning. Thank you to Mr Evans for keeping score.

NSTA Tennis
Yesterday an email was sent out to all NSTA players and their parents with information on this season, the draw, a copy of the teams and a Parent/Player Agreement form. The Parent/Player Agreement needs to be signed and returned to your son’s coach this Friday at the morning meeting. Should your son need a hard copy of this form he can obtain one from the Student Office.
Please ensure that your son has the correct uniform for the first game this week: blue sports shirt, plain white shorts and a school cap.
