REMEMBRANCE DAY

 REMEMBRANCE DAY

The 11th of November was a very special occasion, the 100th anniversary of Remembrance Day. Four students from MESC attended the Remembrance Day service in Mornington in support of Mornington RSL. We loved being a part of the service and making an impact on a day that is important to many. Avalon Bragg was playing in the band as Alex Chatwin-Dalgleish, Miranda Geppert and I marched with the plaques of the fallen to the cenotaph. Alex and I also laid a wreath on behalf of our school and together we stood proud in remembrance. Being a part of this day has made me so proud to be part of this school community and to stand and represent our school at such a beautiful occasion. Thank you so much to Alex for her outstanding organisation and her commitment during busy times.

LES MISERABLES

Les Miserables Production - International

To wrap up a full year of English study, year 10 IPD students put together a Les Miserables production in front of all international students and teachers in Banksia Hall. Although this was many students’ first time on stage performing in front of an audience the cast still managed to put on quite a show. We were blown away by the excellent expressions and genuine but hilarious plots. Eric Zhang and Lambo Weng acted brilliantly as the inn keeper couple. The international students would also like to take this opportunity to thank all their teachers and peers for the ongoing support they received throughout the year.

Melbourne Zoo Excursion

On the last day of semester 2, Year 10 International students visited the Melbourne Zoo in Royal Park. Despite the wet weather, all students enjoyed the day very much. They learned many new words while introduced to Australian native animals and plants.
