What happened at team building?

Students participated in games that encouraged them to communicate, develop strategies to achieve a goal as a team and to value each other’s strengths

Year 8 High Resolves

Year 8 High Resolves Day/Team Building days were held for Year 8 during  Week 7 where

students participated in workshop presentations and team building activities.

Students participated in workshops run by an outside organisation, High Resolves, with the key learning focusing on:

  • Understanding what it means to be a global citizen
  • Helping students to feel confident that they have opportunities to make the world a more just place
  • Having students reflect on personal choices open to them to make the world a better place, and encouraged to come up with a specific resolution to put into action over the next couple of weeks…

Thank you to Ashley Paule, Mariette Taoum and Ellie Chanthalusy who have shared their resolutions:

“I resolve to change myself so that I can change the world so that it’s a better place-the changes I would make would be to make myself more environmentally responsible” – Ashley

“ I resolve to to think twice before I do something and think about everything I say as it has a snowball effect before I say and do anything” - Mariette

“I resolve to not take things for granted, and to be happy with what I have and not what I want. Also, donating my time to people in need” – Ellie

Students also participated in games that encouraged them to communicate, develop strategies to achieve a goal as a team, value each other’s strengths and thanks has to go to the student members of the  House Leadership Team, Mr Alfonsi , Mr Wren, Miss Preston, and all the other supervising teachers on the day. Thank you to Year 8 for being awesome as well!
