Bringing out their best in 110

Year 9 - the year that was!

2017 has been a great year for Year 9 and they have embraced every opportunity given to them whether it be in the classroom, at sporting events representing the school, on excursions or trying to discover themselves on the various career day opportunities they have been a part of.

Respect and teamwork

Respect and team work – this is what we have tried to instill in Year 9 from their Year 6 orientation day back in 2014. It makes us proud to see these being used in every situation. But one situation that stands out the most, and is definitely a highlight for us would  definitely be the team building day last term, where the Iron Up team came and boot camped the blood sweat and tears out of Year 9. Picture this, 110 Year 9 students, in a row, and the only sound you can here is the barking orders from the iron up team as they introduced them to the world of discipline, hard work, strength….. And maybe a little bit of pain.

This is a prime example of the hard work and determination that Year 9 display. They never give up, they always work together and although they walked around the next day like they had been horseback riding for a month, they did not complain! They asked “when can we do it again?” They found their strength, they discovered what hard work meant and in turn they gained so much more.

Amplifying team work and respect

Year 9 amplify team work and respect. They are what hard work and determination are made of. They have pushed themselves every step of the way, and that is something to be proud of. We are proud of you and we know that as you enter he final year of the junior year, and take one step closer into the senior years of high school, you will take these qualities with you.

Remember that 2018 is all about RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY AND SUCCESS! So FOCUS on what you need to do as an individual and how you will be a team player. This is your final year in the junior school, so make it count!

Happy and safe holidays!
