One perfect day

Where Year 9 controlled the action

by Year 9G English class

Jamberoo was very cool. See what we did there?  On Tuesday,  5 December, the lucky cohort of Year 9 were privileged enough to take a day visit to Jamberoo.  The day was one of celebration, to reward the students for their constant hard work and effort throughout a very busy 2017.  Although the weather wasn't perfect, it didn’t stop us from having fun. There were some scary rides like The Perfect Storm, The Taipan, The Funnel Web and The Splash Out, but they were all exhilarating.  Many vocal chords were lost as people screamed at the top of their lungs.

There were also some fun rides that weren’t scary like The Rapid River and the Wave Pool for those who did not want to wait in long lines but still wanted to have some fun. The short lines in Jamberoo made the rides more accessible to our students which allowed them to take on their greatest fears.  The rain and cold did little to dampen our spirits as the students enjoyed taking in the new scenery.  Whiteboards and homework were nothing but a distant memory.

Some students took on the biggest challenge of all, the infamous Rock.  Fists were clenched, eyes were closed as many of the students took the harrowing five metre plunge into the murky depths.  The Rapid River proved the most challenging for the students, despite its relaxing pretences.  The biggest danger at Jamberoo was avoiding getting a cramp from the rides!

Overall the trip was a great success, allowing the students a chance to bask in the summer glow and reflect on a big year.  The sounds of snoring and yawning were all that could be heard on the bus ride home.

Thank you to our Year Advisers for organising this fun day, where we could celebrate all our achievements and create some awesome memories
