You really have to think when you are playing transfer chess.
You really have to think when you are playing transfer chess.

Last week, the Chess Club was a hive of activity as the students participated in a variation of Transfer Chess.

Transfer Chess is played in teams of two on two chess boards. Player A is partnered with Player B. Player A plays a game of chess against Player C at the same time as Player B plays a game of chess against Player D.

If one of the players takes/captures an opponent’s piece during their chess game, they may hand that piece to their partner (who is playing a different game against their opponent). That piece may then be placed on the board!

Transfer Chess involves strategy, memory, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving elements.
