Co-curricular Update - Supporters’ Duty

A reminder that Year 8 has been designated supporters’ duties this Saturday 7 May. All boys are to report to the Powell Pavilion between 1:00 PM and 1:15 PM to have their names marked off. Once this has been completed, boys will move to SPC No. 3 to support the College First XI and await further instructions. Boys will be dismissed at the conclusion of the First XV game; approximate time is 4:50 PM. Those boys playing late College fixtures at grounds located within 20 minutes’ drive from the College are expected to play their respective fixture prior to reporting to their Year Co-ordinator upon arrival.

As many would be aware, the inclement weather last Saturday led to the Junior School Supporters’ Day being cancelled. This came as a great disappointment to members of the First XV and First XI Squads and the Junior School cohort. The College is now investigating the possibility of rescheduling this event and will relay relevant information to parents/carers and boys in due course.

Student Supporters - Attire

Members of the St Patrick’s College community would understand that supporters are most welcome and large numbers are encouraged to come along and support our boys in any of their Co-curricular pursuits. That said, boys are to be dressed in either their College Supporter’s gear and College tracksuit given we are approaching the colder months or their full Winter Uniform. The Year 12 Jersey may only be worn with the College tracksuit and is not to be worn with their College uniform. Boys supporting at Debating events are to wear their full College winter uniform.

Boys who are inappropriately dressed and/or groomed may be sent home and will be issued with a College detention. These expectations apply to all of our students irrespective of whether they are playing/performing that day.

Co-curricular Uniform – Travelling on Public Transport

As of February 2016, boys have been permitted to wear the following College attire whilst making their way home on public transport at the conclusion of an afternoon’s training session:

  • Full summer or winter College uniform depending on the season as per current expectation or
  • The College Supporter’s shirt, College Crested Black shorts, white socks and runners/sandshoes. The College tracksuit is optional yet highly recommended to be worn during the winter season.

You are to note that the College is being quite specific and as such, no boy should be wearing House t-shirts, rugby socks, football boots, etc, on public transport. These expectations are also in place for boys travelling to school for an early morning Co-curricular training session.

Failure to adhere to these conditions will result in the following consequences:

  • First offence – College detention and the above-mentioned privilege will be taken from a student for a period of two weeks.
  • Second offence – College detention and the above-mentioned privilege will be taken from a student for a period of six months.
