Junior School

Welcome to Term 2… It has been great to be back at school and catching up with students about their holidays. One comment that has been frequent is how students felt that the break was timely as they were exhausted after the longest term of onsite learning since 2019.

It is important that whilst it has taken some time to adjust to onsite learning that we remind students and families of the expectations of being a learner at Woodman’s Hill Secondary College.

Students are expected to be in full school uniform every day. If a student is unable to be in uniform then they are required to bring a note signed by a Parent/ Guardian detailing the reasons for being out of uniform and the date that the student will be back in uniform. Uniform passes are available from the year level leader’s office between 8.45 - 9.00am. If you are having difficulty purchasing uniform, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant year level leader or myself to discuss options.

Students are also expected to arrive at class prepared for learning, this includes arriving on time with all correct materials for the subject including books, student diary and a stocked pencil case.

This term whilst the weather will cool off, will still see plenty of activities for students to engage in. on Tuesday 17th of May, our Year 9 cohort will take part in the SSMART ASSK program and engage in a wellbeing afternoon.  The program will cover making choices and risk taking behaviours. Over the coming week/s information and permission slips will be sent home.

Year 9 will also have a camp running later in the term. We are encouraging all students to attend the camp and enjoy some time away together as a group.

The Art department has organised an art competition in support of Arts week (week 9) I encourage all students to get creating and make an artwork inspired by the seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring) Artworks can be submitted to Ms Finn no later than June 16th.  Students can see compass or their art teacher for more information.

Should you have any concerns about your child’s engagement or wellbeing I invite you to make contact with myself or child’s year level leader.

I look forward to the term ahead,
