TERTIARY INFORMATION SERVICE (TIS)

Every year TIS runs a series of roadshows, providing an opportunity for students to learn more about their higher education and tertiary study options once they have finished high school.

Woodmans Hill students from Year 11 and 12 attended the Tertiary Information Service presentation on Thursday which was held at Federation Uni.

Students attended a presentation where they learnt about life as a university student. This included information about

  • What is tertiary study
  • What can you study
  • Why choose tertiary study
  • The student experience
  • Transition and moving away from home
  • SEAS and scholarships
  • Budgeting for students
  • Fees and costs
  • VTAC applications
  • Support for students

Following the presentation students had the opportunity to meet with tertiary representatives to gain further information. Although this time flew by too quickly, students came away with more of an understanding of the tertiary experience, as well as many resources to help them with their planning.
