Vegetable Gardening Fun!

It is so exciting to see how our vegetables are thriving! Our students picked 22 leaves of silverbeet today and are looking forward to contributing to family dinner time tonight! A few students couldn’t wait so washed and nibbled!  Students found red radishes peeking above the soil so we picked one and all had a taste. “Yum! Spicy! Hot but yum!” Our chives, lettuce, parsley and calendula are also thriving. We hope more will be ready to eat next week, before the holidays.

Volunteers who can gently water, are very welcome on days other than the Thursday (we water on Thursday when Miss Belinda is here) - especially while our seedlings are so small. Just ask Mrs Boffa in the office for the key to the shed to get a watering can. Our plants really appreciate it!

Nude Food Day every Thursday

The winner of Nude Food this week is 3/4TR with 13 rubbish free lunches, followed closely by 5/6FA with 12, 3/4BOC with 8, PrepRT with 7, 1/2UR with 6 and PrepCD with 6! Well done! Remember to bring healthy food with no wrappers on Thursdays so we can make less rubbish and look after our environment.

Thanks everyone for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!

Talking With Young Children About Climate Change - Tuesday 12 April 7 - 8.30pm (online)

Hear how parents and carers can play an important role in helping children cope with climate change now and in the future.

Children are experiencing increasing anxiety over the fate of the planet. However, parents, carers and teachers can play an important role in helping children cope with climate change now and in the future.

Join psychologist Susie Burke to gather ideas about how to support our children to cope with the “uncomfortable truths” of climate change. Learn about the skills and capacities our children will need for engaging in efforts to restore a safe climate, and for adapting to the inevitable changes ahead. Hear from an early childhood educator and a parent about what gives them hope and how they have engaged young children around climate change.
