Fight MND Fundraiser

Ice Bucket Challenge

Monday morning students of year 7 had guest speaker Bec Daniher come to talk about her journey as an elite river rower, and the transition to campaign director of the Fight MND Foundation.  As the daughter of Neil Daniher, Bec’s story gave inspiration to the positive approach her father has had on tackling his disease and the strength found through creating purpose, ensuring the research is being conducted for future generations who might develop the disease. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, which educated many of them on what Motor Neuron Disease is, how it is diagnosed and the breakthroughs that have come from the fundraising efforts of the Fight MND Foundation. Students were further inspired by the confidence and passion Bec showed when talking about a disease impacting her family directly.

To further support the cause some of our teachers volunteered to be doused with water, with every $1 raised 100ml of water was added to the bucket. Thanks to these staff we raised $350 for the Fight MND Foundation.
