School Council Update

School council Update

We were delighted to welcome the Upper House Member for Southern Metropolitan region in the State Government, Enver Erdogan, to our school in November. The Principal, Debby and I, were able to take Mr Erdogan on a brief tour of the school, along with the Captains and Vice Captains, to inform him of both the history of the College and our approach to teaching, learning and wellbeing at BSC in 2019. We also had an opportunity to tour our sporting facilities as well as the performing arts and food tech areas. After the tour, we discussed the Stage 2 construction and necessary funding which is currently being considered by the State Government, and our impending enrolment pressures, which will see the school exceed its current capacity in 2021/22. It was encouraging to hear Mr Erdogan advise he is in full agreement with the need to expand the school to accommodate up to 1100 students and that he will do all he can to help to achieve a speedy resolution. Mr Erdogan's visit came shortly after another visit by the Parliamentary Secretary for Schools, Tim Richardson, addressing the same matter. We will keep you up to date with all developments with regards to the Stage 2 construction of BSC in the coming months.
